$2 Billion and Growing

According to a recent report from Bersin by Deloitte (May 2013), U.S. companies are spending over $62 billion on corporate training programs with over $2 billion toward online learning.  Even in a slow economy, industry reports have indicated that companies are looking to increase their investment in online training if there is clear evidence of quality content, employee engagement and a return on investment.   Corporate leaders understand the critical need for workforce development to be able to fill the skills gap, and online training programs are getting a lot of attention as a cost effective solution.

Some measures to consider for how to track and measure the success of online training include the level of user engagement,  participation in knowledge checking activities, completion rates, user evaluation scores and the level of user achievement in relation to their job performance.
